The objective is to enable the reading and writing of information, via high frequency (13.5 MHz) radio identification (RFID), to labels and wristbands. This versatile tool set will work with any Personal Data Assistant (PDA) running the Pocket PC platform with the addition of a Secure Digital (SD) RFID reader card  and Lockwood's QuickTrac© software suite.
Once the SD RFID reader is inserted into the PDA's SDIO slot, the PDA is enabled to read from, and write to, RFID-enabled wristbands and peel-and-stick labels, utilizing 13.5 MHz high frequency radio identification technology. There are defined limits with this technology. Specifically, the frequency range forces the user to read and write within a few inches of the wristband or label. Further, there are only two available read/write areas; the first is a unique RFID number that identifies the wristband/label from all others. This field is capable of storing 26 characters. The second is a user data area that can store up to 49 alphanumeric characters.
Lockwood's QuickTrac© 13.5 MHz option affords several value added features to this technology. They are:
1) Through the use of clever encoding, expands the storage value of the user data area (49 characters) to represent up to 49 separate data fields of varying sizes that can be easily mapped to align with external reference data sources
2) Empowers the user to easily design the 49 storage elements to match their unique requirements via an intuitive point and click wizard
3) Enables the user to establish a data flow (interface) between any backend transaction processing system/repository and the wristband/label storage values, via the QuickTrac Desktop Integrator©
